A recent earthquake has devastated the coastal region of Vargas and La Guaira, Venezuela—a area known for its vibrant surf community and resilient people. While international headlines may have missed this tragedy, the reality on the ground is severe: local prices for necessities have skyrocketed, and families in the surf community are struggling without basic household essentials, food, and communication access.

 

How Groundswell Aid & Christian Surfers Are Responding

At Groundswell Aid (a vital ministry of Christian Surfers), we exist to step into the gap where surfing and poverty intersect—both in times of ongoing need and sudden crisis.

We are partnering directly with Luis Gutierrez, local leader Oscar, and on-the-ground contact Rene to deliver direct, immediate relief to the affected local surf community.

Because traditional financial pipelines to Venezuela are closed, we have secured a direct, secure transfer pathway.
