In September, the Groundswell Aid crew, featuring Sylven and Crusoe, joined forces with Jason Mendonca, the National Director of Christian Surfers South Africa, for a coastal outreach trip filled with purpose, connection, and a few unforgettable moments.
The team headed from Jeffreys Bay up to Durban, distributing freshly printed Surfers Bibles and visiting several key partners making an impact along South Africa’s coast. One highlight was in Durban, where they spent time with South Beach Stoke, one of Groundswell Aid’s partner projects. Willem, a faithful man who shares the love of Jesus every Saturday at South Beach, continues to inspire by using surfing to mentor and uplift local youth from challenging backgrounds.
The journey continued to Port Shepstone, where they connected with Genesis Wave of Hope, encouraging the dedicated leaders who are bringing faith and transformation to their community through surfing.
Through laughter, worship, and shared stories, the trip reminded everyone involved of the unity and purpose within South Africa’s surf and faith communities.
