Making a Difference on Ayoke Island

Groundswell Aid collabed with Christian Surfers Siargao to support the small island of Ayoke in the Philippines, home to around a hundred people. Almost half the population are children, many of whom love to surf or watch others surf. Before this project, they had only a few boards and had to wait for their turn.

Dom Cui, national director of Christian Surfers Philippines, shared:

“Every time we visit, the beach is full of kids watching. After we surf, we let them use our boards. That led to friendship—they hang out with us. Because of this relationship, even their parents come to join in, share meals, sing together, and spend time with us. We can’t afford those surfboards or visit often, but we are blessed because of Groundswell Aid!”

This project has helped bring the community together, giving children and families opportunities to connect, play, and build lasting friendships.
