Stoke Valley Surf Club Stoked with New Boards
We’re stoked to share that the Stoke Valley Surf Club (Christian Surfers Cape Town) has received brand-new bodyboards and surfboards, we are so blessed to be able to partner up with RYD thanks to the incredible support of the Ball Project!
These young, passionate surfers, affectionately known as “groms” can now paddle out fully equipped and ready to face the waves with confidence. The smiles, excitement, and courage in the water said it all.
Project leader, John Morley (aka Barefoot John), shared this after their first surf session with the new boards:
“Bru, the groms were frooooothing! The older boys hit backline for the second time—they were scared but sent it! And 13-year-old Manfred caught the wave of the day!”
While surfing is a huge part of what happens at Stoke Valley Surf Club, the ultimate goal goes far beyond wave-riding. The team is deeply committed to discipling and mentoring these young surfers — helping them grow in faith, character, and purpose both in and out of the water.
A massive thanks you our Groundswell Aid community who made this possible , from the Ball Project’s financial support to the local leaders like John who faithfully show up week after week to serve their community. Together, we’re not just building surfers; we’re helping to shape the next generation of young leaders.
