Rebuilding El Paredón Buena Vista

We recently received communications from a member of the Christian Surfers community, Edgar from Christian Surfers Guatemala of a devastating fire which tore through El Paredón Buena Vista. The fire destroyed many homes, businesses and people’s livelihoods. This has left many families in need of very urgent support.

Rebuilding El Paredón Buena Vista

El Paredón has a thriving surf community where the ocean is a way of life. Local surf instructors and businesses have played a key role in providing opportunities for the youth, giving them not only a sport but also a future.

Edgar from Christian Surfers Guatemala has been working in this community for many years, supporting the youth and local surfers, creating lasting impact in their lives.

Now, they need our help to rebuild what was lost.

How We’re Helping

Groundswell Aid is opening up its relief fund and is partnering with Edgar Guillen, National Director of CS Guatemala, to provide essential relief:

  • Construction materials & tools – $2,000
  • Food parcels – $1,500 ($30 per family/week)
  • Bed supplies (mattress, sheets) – $1,000 ($150 per family)

How You Can Help

We need to raise $4,500 to rebuild and restore hope.

Amount raised: $945

Amount needed: $3555

Goal: $4,500

Ongoing support

If you become a monthly donor, it ensures we can respond quickly when disasters strike. If CS Guatemala no longer needs urgent support, funds will help other projects and CS nations or communities in crisis.

Together, we can help El Paredón rise again and stand ready for the next community in need. Donate today!
