We did it! Together, we were able to ‘Bring back the Stoke’

Over the month of August we raised funds for our friends from South Beach Stoke in Durban, South Africa. Willem van Deventer, the founder of South Beach Stoke, delivered food packages to many families in need over the past few weeks, and was to assist with further needs such as stove tops and mattresses.

Willem would love to share a word with you to share what he has been able to do over the last month:

We would like to thank each and every person and organization that helped with the recent funding to our desperate cause in Durban.

• We’ve helped many families relocate to safer housing.

• Purchased blankets, mattresses, small stoves to the desperate families.

• We fed and are still feeding 28 families on a two week basis since the first funding came available.

• +- 150 boxes of food were handed out so far, each box with basic food and hygiene items to feed a family of 4 people for 2 weeks.

• Helped with financial support for one of the single mothers whose 26 year old son was murdered.

• Helped with financial support for one of our families whose 12 year old daughter was up ducted and raped.(still ongoing)

• Delivered Food parcels to Bobby Bear foundation. They look after and care for children that are raped or physically abused.

While we weren’t able to impact the whole of Durban or completely turn around the lives of the families we’ve raised funds for, we can assure you that small matters can make big changes for later generations.
